Summer Memories

As I visited one of my favorite blogs, I was reminded of how I enjoy journaling about the summer and things enjoyed:
~ the sun coming up through a different location through the trees

~a move that went well, through the grace of God

~the sound of crickets and bugs in the silence

~the dogs checking out our new home

~grilling...anything

~open windows with fresh air and a fan blowing through

~the warm sun on my face

~flowers in everyone's yard

~seeing Danielle sitting on the deck enjoying one of her favorite books

~a nap in the heat of the day!

~green, everything is green

~cool cotton skirts and shirts

~Being outdoors for the early part of the day to work on "projects"

~a picnic at the park

~evening walks...with no bugs! (there is gnats galore in south GA, and we don't have gnats here in Ohio.)

~Cool crisp salads. We tried a new kind of salad using steak tips, very tasty. Grilled of course.

~farmer's markets and getting to know farmers, now friends

~learning about seasonal eating and local produce

~reading with a cup of tea

~the sound of birds singing their hearts out for as far as I can hear

How about you? What are some of your favorite summertime memories?

As we go into fall I am looking forward to sharing the amazement of God's creation as it natrually prepares itself for winter.

Our family is growing...

Danielle brought home 2 friends for Sunday dinner. We had such a wonderful time with them here. I loved listening to them all singing in the kitchen while they cleaned up after dinner. I made homemade chicken noodle soup, homemade whole wheat rolls (Thanks Cyn!) and chocolate pudding for them (tea for me :-) . The oo's and ah's were heart warming for me. When it was time for them to go, the house was once again quite and I already miss them. Until next time, you can check out their blog. Sorry no pics right now, blogger is having trouble...rrrgh!

Grateful Day!

I had good news from the doc Fri. Nothing broken. He gave me a homeopathic remedy to help the damaged nerves and tissue and thanks to some Arnica creme, Wobenzyme and this remedy I have no bruising and am almost totally healed.

God gave us these things to use, we just need to be persistant to search for them. Praise God! and a hug for Him too ;-)

Last post was was telling future..

So, there I was at 6 am. I grabbed the laundry basket to take down to the basement to start my 1 load. I get 1 step into the 5 and whoosh! There went my feet. Yep! I sat there on the second to the last step, saying " oh Lord, oh Lord". Praise God so far I am ok. Getting sore as the day goes on, but nothing major. I have a spot on the back of my pelvic bone that is very sore, though I can push on it and walk so I don't think it's cracked, but my elbow. Oh my. You would have thought I swallowed a golf ball and it got stuck in my elbow, oh a purple and blue golf ball.

So when I said "Fall is a comin' " I really didn't mean this! I've already started on Wobenzyme, a must, and Arnica cream, another must. I hope the doc tomorrow has good news, just all bumped up but will be fine. I hope.

God's peace~

Fall is comin'

Whoa! Cool weather today! (I know, I've never lived in it...so ask me how I like it again in a couple months :-)

We got up and it was 50 degrees outside. Nice and crisp. The leaves are slowly turning yellow. It was great for my morning prayer time outside. I'm usually outside on my deck by 6 am sometimes 6:30, for prayers and time to write and listen to what my Father wants me to learn. With the sun coming up between the trees and I was wrapped in a blanket, I had a great morning time outside!

I pray your day is fulfilling as you practice being not doing. We are human beings, not human doings. Our soul's need for some down time so we can listen.

God's peace~

Happy Birthday to my Sweetie!

Yesterday was my husband's birthday! I won't say how old he is but let's just say next year we may need the fire extinguisher near by! (I love you dear!!)
.
Danielle came home for supper and dessert, it made his day. We are not big dessert eaters, so I bought a tiny cake thinking I could get all the candles on. Tee hee hee, I got 'um on ok! The center flame that is taller is actually a different candle than the rest. That one represented the past year.
.
We have a family tradition. When it's your birthday...no utensils. That means no utensils for even ice cream. It has made for some interesting birthday's together. Both girls have grumbled through the years but it's a tradion that we started when I met Chris and his girls were 2 and 4. Danielle just dove in and a new tradtion was born!
.
Happy Birthday Chris, and may God protect you and bring peace to your soul in this next year.

Amish country

Chris and I went through Millersburg and a couple of really small Amish communities and along the highway I found these barns. After doing research I learned there are barnes all across Ohio called "Quilt Barns" and there is actually a brochure on these so you can site see. These are only 2, I saw 2 others but they snuck up on us. It's quite entertaining to see me trying to grab the camera turn it on, fumble with it and hold it up to click and the barn is a mile behind us. Hubby got a good giggle a few times! Hope you enjoy the pic's.

This is out the front window of the truck. Traffic in middle Ohio. The kids peeking out the back of one of the buggies and waving was just too cute!

Sunday Supper

It's been a couple of weeks since Danielle moved out and she finally came home for Sunday supper. She said she wanted some good food and needed to do laundry (the REAL meaning for coming home.) Her dad went to get her and came home with 2 daughters. This is our "adopted" daughter, Tina, with Danielle. I don't hear from her much, but I pray for her a lot!
